Mercedes Herrero is best known for being an original cast member of the multi-award winning The Laramie Project and its sequel The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later. She recently reprised her role in the critically acclaimed revival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Ms Herrero has been a part of 15 world premieres including works by Lynn Nottage, Nilo Cruz, Lynn Redgrave, A.R. Gurney, Alan Ayckbourn, Craig Wright and Ariel Dorfman. She played Queen Elizabeth opposite Peter Dinklage in Richard III at the Public Theater and Mistress Quickly in the NYSF production of Henry V starring Liev Shreiber. Off-Broadway credits include: Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theatre Club, Classic Stage Company, Union Square Theater, Intar, The Flea, The Cherry Lane, and La MaMa. Regionally she has performed at the Yale Rep, Arena Stage, Center Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, Berkeley Rep, A.R.T., Syracuse Stage, Two River, The Wilma and Asolo Rep among many others. Film and T.V. credits include: all four "Law & Orders," Deception, Arranged, King of the Corner, and The Tao of Steve. Ms Herrero holds an M.F.A from the Yale School of Drama and is thrilled to be making her Broadway debut in the Curious Incident.
