Louise Jameson Biography
Training: RADAAfter training, award-winning actress, director and writer Louise Jameson joined the RSC for three years and has since enjoyed a career on screen, theatre (including The National) and television; most notably as a regular in Doctor Who, Tenko (her personal favourite), Bergerac, The Secret Diary of a Adrian Mole, EastEnders, Toast, Doc Martin and Silent Witness. She is currently appearing in the BAFTA winning series The Secret life of Boys, and recently completed filming a Midsomer Murders.
Films include: My Friend Walter; Stick with me Kid; Tractate Middoth; award winning Cleaning Up and A Quiet Courage.
Awards and nominations: Three times nominated for Best actress (Offies) most recently for Vincent River at Trafalgar studios. Best Performance for an Improvised Internet series The Vessel, The Argos People’s Best Play Award for My Gay Best Friend Brighton Festival, written and performed by Louise and Nigel Fairs.
Other Work: In 2020 Louise directed a tour of Revenge, which was cruelly cut short because of the present situation with plans to re-mount next year. Louise also writes, performs and directs regularly for Big Finish, Spiteful Puppet and Audible audio companies, most notably creating award winning WWII series, ATA Girl, and currently directing Getting Better, celebrating Nye Bevin and the birth of the National Health. Her children’s story, with music, Beware the Goblin Men, can be downloaded from her website.
2021 sees Louise celebrate 50 years as an actor and from October she will be touring with I was Shakespeare’s Mistress – a one woman show celebrating her half century as an Equity member.
