Kamilah Lay has performed professionally, primarily in Music Theatre, since the age of seven (Midwest Regional Section, NY thus far); she has seamlessly evolved from young performer to accoladed adolescent to adult actor. Currently an EMC, Kamilah earned her BFA in Music Theatre from IL Wesleyan University. In addition to a wide vocal and acting range as well as dance repertoire, Kamilah is skilled in violin and fiddle. First Stage, one of the nation's leading theaters for young people and families, will share with Milwaukee audiences ELF - The Musical this holiday season. Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum, which featured Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, with Book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, Music by Matthew Sklar, Lyrics by Chad Baguelin and Directed and Music Direction by Jeff Schaetzke, this hit Broadway musical features catchy tunes, high-energy dance numbers and plenty of holiday joy.

First Stage celebrates milestone year with its 25th Anniversary Gala tonight, June 9. The event is also an occasion to recognize Founding Artistic Director Rob Goodman for his accomplishments during his 25 year tenure. The black tie evening will include cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner and a program featuring inspirational stories by current young performers, students and alumni of First Stage. During this program a ground-breaking new fundraising initiative will be unveiled and Rob Goodman will be presented with a very special gift in honor of 25 years of transforming lives through theater. The evening will conclude with the high-energy big band, Swing Nouveau.
