Dr. Peter Simon, Michael and Sonja Koerner President & CEO of The Royal Conservatory of Music, Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of Performing Arts, and James Anagnoson, Dean of The Glenn Gould School, has revealed details of the diverse concerts that will make up the 15th concert season at The Royal Conservatory of Music.

On Saturday evening, Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin named double bassist Joseph H. Conyers the new Principal Bass (Carole and Emilio Gravagno Chair) of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Participating in The School District of Philadelphia’s All-City Music Program is a great honor, and this year six members of the PYO Music Institute have placed in the All-City Concerto Competition. Consisting of the top performing student musicians within The School District of Philadelphia, the All-City Music Program is audition based and includes a full symphonic orchestra, concert band, and choir.

The Curtis Institute of Music has announced that the internationally-celebrated Dover Quartet has named Curtis alumna Julianne Lee (Violin '05) as its new violist. Ms. Lee, who currently serves as assistant principal second violin of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and principal second violin with the Boston Pops Orchestra, has forged a remarkable career as both a violinist and violist, frequently appearing as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.

London's acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields makes its highly anticipated return to Bravo! Vail with Music Director Joshua Bell. World-renowned resident orchestras-the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra-join for 17 programs led by Music Directors Jaap van Zweden, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Fabio Luisi, in addition to guest conductors Marin Alsop, Giancarlo Guerrero, Hannu Lintu, Stéphane Denève, Jeff Tyzik, and Justin Freer.

Award-winning Canadian pianist Connie Shih joins Isserlis for his fifth appearance with SHCS. A pre-concert talk takes place at 4:30pm and is open to all ticket holders.

Shriver Hall Concert Series (SHCS) — Baltimore's premier presenter of chamber music ensembles and solo recitalists — opens its 2022-23 season with a concert featuring flutist Emi Ferguson and continuo band Ruckus, who make their Baltimore debuts at Shriver Hall on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 5:30pm.

Today, Black members of more than forty orchestras announced the Black Orchestral Network (BON). BON is a collective of Black orchestral musicians dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for Black people in the orchestral field. The group was built on the motto, “if we increase our connection to one another, we can harness our creativity and develop initiatives  that benefit Black musicians.”
