He was nominated for Best Play at the New York Drama Critics Circle Awards for "The Orphans' Home Cycle" and "Dividing the Estate." He also received a nomination for Outstanding Play at the Drama Desk Awards for "Dividing the Estate." Foote was nominated for Best Play at the Tony Awards for "The Young Man From Atlanta." In addition, he received the Outstanding Body of Work award at The Lortels. Foote's notable achievement includes winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for "The Young Man From Atlanta."

Horton Foote has won several awards throughout his career. He received the Best Play award from the New York Drama Critics Circle Awards twice for his work on The Orphans' Home Cycle. He also won the Outstanding Body of Work award from The Lortels. Additionally, Foote was honored with the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play The Young Man From Atlanta.
