George Hartpence is an actor/director in East Coast regional theater with extensive experience in classical drama & comedy. He is seen most frequently with The ActorsNET of Bucks County in Morrisville, PA and the Shakespeare`70 Company of Trenton, NJ. Some of his favorite roles include; the title roles in "Macbeth", "Hamlet", and "Richard III", Prospero in "The Tempest", Cyrano in "Cyrano de Bergerac", Iago in "Othello", Brutus in "Julius Caesar", Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice", Junius Brutus Booth in "Booth", Laurence Olivier in "Orson's Shadow", Lord Goring in "An Ideal Husband", Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady", Captain von Trapp in "The Sound of Music", King Arthur in "Camelot", Antony in "Antony and Cleopatra", Astrov and Vanya in "Uncle Vanya", Algernon in "The Importance of Being Earnest", John Proctor in "The Crucible", Dick Dudgeon in "The Devil's Disciple", Inspector Goole in “An Inspector Calls”, Thomas More in "A Man For All Seasons", and Henry II in both "Becket" and "The Lion in Winter".

KING LEAR Returns to ActorsNET This June

William Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy King Lear returns to the stage in this area after a 20-year absence. From June 10 through 26, ActorsNET of Morrisville, Pennsylvania presents Shakespeare’s towering drama two decades after they first presented it in 2002. The company’s Artistic Director, Cheryl Doyle, once again directs the play at the company’s intimate theater along the Delaware River. The title role will be played this time by George Hartpence.
