The award-winning CAP21 Theatre Company has announced casting for the first production of a new musical, THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST, with book and lyrics by Jenny Stafford, music by Brandon Anderson, and story by Jenny Stafford and Brandon Anderson. THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST is a love story that takes place in the moment between the Scientist's proposal and the Artist's answer. It explores the creative and scientific forces that make us who we are; and the people who challenge us to open ourselves to something more. THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST will play a limited run from February 4 -28, 2015 at the CAP21 Theatre, 18 West 18th Street, 5th Floor, New York. www.cap21.org
CAP21 Partners With RKO Stage to Develop Five New Musicals

CAP21 Theatre Company and RKO Stage have partnered to develop 5 new musicals inspired by RKO's classic film library over the next two years. CAP21 has designed a year-long developmental process during which writing teams are able to complete a strong first draft of a new musical. During each cycle, writers will participate in CAP21's signature New Works Development Program, a comprehensive process that includes: Process Meetings, Writers Residencies, Roundtable Readings, Read-Thru/Sing-Thru Table Readings and Concert Readings. With this new partnership CAP21 is receiving funding to establish the residency.
CAP21 Kicks Off Residency at Molloy College

Collaborative Arts Project 21, America's Musical Theatre Conservatory and Theatre Company (CAP21) and Molloy College have established a one-of-a-kind partnership. CAP21 is in residency at Molloy College, and to inaugurate the residency, both institutions are developing a four year BFA Theatre Arts Degree Program that will combine CAP21's 20 years of experience in training musical theatre actors and Molloy College's renowned academic programming.

In honor of the milestone anniversary, CAP21 promises to support the development of at least 20 new musicals in the coming year through various programming that the Theatre Company offers.

As the CAP21 Theatre Company celebrates their 20th Anniversary, Executive Artistic Director, Frank Ventura and Artistic Director, Eliza Ventura have announced CAP21's 2012-2013 ambitious "Season of New Work", which promises to further develop at least 20 new musicals in the coming year through various programming that the Theatre Company offers. Additionally the upcoming year will include two Off-Off Broadway productions: Maiden Voyage (working title) by musical team Michelle Elliott and Danny Larsen and Recount (working title), a co-production with Rescue Agreement. Both productions are being developed through CAP21 programs and resources.
