Nikki M. James, Karen Mason, Joe Iconis & More to Perform at Cap21's Birthday Bash Benefit, 6/23

On Monday, June 23rd, 2014 CAP21 will celebrate its 21st birthday with an epic celebration-The 21st Birthday Bash-at its home at 18 W. 18th Street, 5th and 6th Floors, New York, NY. The event will begin at 7pm with a cocktail hour in the CAP21 Theatre lobby on the 5th floor and will include wine and light hors d'oeuvres. A birthday party concert will begin at 7:30pm in the CAP21 Theatre on the 5th floor, featuring highlights from past CAP21 Theatre Company productions and prominent CAP21 alumni sharing favorite musical moments from their student days. An After-Party Celebration will follow the concert.

Of the event and the marking of this milestone year, Executive Artistic Director Frank Ventura says, "CAP21 is turning 21...we're finally legal! It's remarkable-the 21 years have flown by working with so many wonderfully talented artists in all our programs. We are thrilled about all that has been accomplished and the amazing future ahead."

Scheduled to perform at the concert are: Steve Bebout (The Addams Family), Todd Cerveris (South Pacific, Southern Comfort), Holly Davis (Sister Act), Parker Esse (Helen Hayes Award Winner), Vernon Goodman (St. Louis Black Repertory Company) , Joe Iconis (Writer/Composer, Smash, Bloodsong of Love), Nikki M. James (Tony Award Winner, The Book of Mormon, Les Miserables), Marshall Keating (Rock of Ages National Tour), Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Ten-Time MAC Award Winner), Alli Mauzey (Wicked), Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring It On: The Musical), Lance Rubin (The Lance and Ray Show podcast), Robin Skye (Beautiful Creatures, Southern Comfort), Pearl Sun (If/Then), Maria Turnage (Broadway Master Class Series), Jason "SweetTooth" Williams (Bloodsong of Love), and the cast of upcoming New York Musical Theater Festival production of Academia Nuts.

The concert will be directed by Terry Berliner (The Lion King, The Sound of Music) and music directed by Julianne Wick Davis (Southern Comfort, When We Met, GLAAD Media Award winner, Johnathan Larson Award Recipient).

The concert will be followed by an After-Party Celebration in the Shop on the 6th floor, featuring a showtune sing-along, open bar and hors d'oeuvres, dancing, birthday cake, silent auction and other festive surprises.

Proceeds will benefit the students and artists of the CAP21 Conservatory and Theatre Company.
