Outgoing Board Chair Ann Davies welcomed the members of The Old Globe Board of Directors along with donors, subscribers, and guests, and announced the newly elected Directors serving three-year terms.

It's all happening as The Old Globe throws the party of the year-the 2019 Globe Gala, Where Black Tie Meets Tie-Dye, on Saturday, September 21, in support of the theatre's arts engagement and artistic programs. The get-down fun will be on the Globe's Copley Plaza, as Cameron Crowe's Oscar-winning movie Almost Famous returns to its home city reimagined as a world-premiere musical. Globe Board members Ellise Coit and Karen Tanz serve as Co-Chairs.

The meeting was followed by a dessert reception catered by The Prado Restaurant for the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Founders-Level Donors on Copley Plaza.

Over 300 guests attended The Old Globe's 2015 Gala, "Club 3515," celebrating the Globe's 80th Anniversary, on July 25 on the Globe's historic campus in Balboa Park. The Old Globe's Annual Meeting was held on January 27 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. After a reception in the Ottenstein Lobby, outgoing Old Globe Board Chair Harold W. Fuson, Jr. welcomed the Board of Directors and guests and announced the newly elected Board and Executive Committee members, including his successor as Board Chair, Elaine Bennett Darwin. Managing Director Michael G. Murphy gave an update on the Globe's financial position and presented highlights of the 2013 fiscal year, and Artistic Director Barry Edelstein spoke about the artistic future of the Globe and its place in the San Diego community. The meeting was followed by a reception and dinner for the Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Founders Level Donors at the Prado Ballroom in Balboa Park's historic House of Hospitality.

The Old Globe's Board of Directors today named Michael G. Murphy as Managing Director. Murphy was appointed Interim Managing Director in October 2011 after the resignation of CEO/Executive Producer Louis G. Spisto, who oversaw both the artistic and administrative operations of the theatre.
