BWW Review: Jonathan Larson's RENT Brings Excellent Ensemble to The Gateway
I'm always cautiously optimistic in seeing a regional production of Jonathan Larson's Rent as I am a Renthead of MANY years. The thing to remember, obviously, is art has different interpretations. It is interesting to see the different elucidations of the choreography, the varied choices the actors make, the Director's vision, et cetera. I can proudly say that The Gateway Playhouse's incarnation of the Tony and Pulitzer winner, which is kicking off a very busy Summer season for the darling Bellport venue, does not disappoint.

Musicals Tonight! continues its ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of At This Performance... to be held on Sunday, March 22nd at The Lion Theatre , 410 West 42nd Street at 7 PM. Hosted by series Producing Artistic Director and Casting Director Stephen DeAngelis, the popular series allows performers to showcase their versatility and share anecdotes about their experiences.
COLLISION Set for Playwrights on Park Reading Series Tonight
Dustin Sullivan's play, Collision, will be the second staged reading featured in Playwrights on Park, Playhouse on Park's new reading series. This series is an exciting opportunity for emerging and established playwrights to bring the earliest incarnations of their plays directly to the Playhouse on Park audience. The staged reading will be held tonight, February 3 at 7:30 PM. The cost is $5, general admission. There will be a talk back with the playwright and the cast immediately following the reading.
