The Resident Acting Company, formed three years ago by members of the Pearl Theater Company, has been producing Play Dates With The RAC throughout the pandemic. Gallery Players will present a live broadcast production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by James Dean Palmer and Myah Shein, performed July 16-24. Palmer returns to Gallery following his critically acclaimed productions of Julius Caesar (2017) and last summer's The Tempest.

The Black Box New Play Festival is Gallery Players' signature festival of new works by both new and established playwrights, featuring world premieres of new comedies and dramas. Now in its 23rd year, the festival will premiere 18 new plays over the course of three weekends. The festival opens Thursday, January 9 and runs through January 26, with a new collection of plays presented each week. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30PM, and Sundays at 3PM. There will be a talk back with the playwrights directly after the Sunday matinees.

Gallery Players presents Shakespeare's The Tempest, directed by James Dean Palmer in July. Palmer returns to Gallery following his critically acclaimed 2017 production of Julius Caesar. This classic tale kicks off with a shipwreck and tells a story of unlikely love and long-awaited forgiveness made possible only with a bit of magic. In this production, magic comes to life through a chorus of spirits, comprised of young performers from across the city.

Players' Shakespeare: Onstage is proud to present William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice which will open July 18th and run through August 4th. Dominic Cuskern(Inherit the Wind, A Perfect Ganesh), Broadway veteran and long-standing member of the Pearl Theatre Resident Acting Company, stars as Shylock. Returning to Gallery, David Patrick Ford (Macbeth, Othello) will play Antonio opposite Cuskern. Gallery President and admired Director Mark Harborth (Noises Off, Chess, Othello, Dreamgirls) will again direct. Bringing the play to life under Harborth's direction are Lighting Designer Scott A. Calley, Sound Designer Jacob Subotnick, Costume Designer/Asst. Director Sidney Fortner, Stage Manager Becky J. Doster and Producer Frankie Dailey. The cast will include Erin Beirnard as Portia, Hunter Hoffman as Bassanio, Louis Lavoie as Launcelot, as well as J.B. Alexander, Kevin Blackwelder, Colin Dweir, Cara Farlow, Jonathan Green, Luke Hofmaier, Mark Kinch, Zack Krajnyak, Chris Richards, Louise Stewart.
