The Colony Theatre in association with producers Christine Russell (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Head Over Heels), Robert Ulrich and Jay Paul Deratany are presenting the Reel Red Entertainment production of The Civility of Albert Cashier, a new musical about notable queer history figure Albert Cashier, born Jennie Hodgers, who served alongside the men of the 95th Illinois Volunteer Infantry with distinction throughout some of the fiercest fighting of the Civil War. While not alone as a woman serving on the battlefield during the war, Cashier never revealed himself as anyone other than a man dedicated to serving his country on the battlefields during its greatest time of need. He was recognized as such by his comrades in arms and those surrounding him and retained his identity as a man throughout his later life. Transgender musician and actor Cidny Bullens (Pictured) portrays the older Cashier in the play with Dani Shay taking on the role of the younger Cashier. I decided to speak with Cid about his own road to self-discovery and what led him to the role of a transgender man.

Liisi LaFontaine, last seen on the West End as Deena opposite Amber Riley in the most recent revival of Dreamgirls and F. Michael Haynie, who was seen last on Broadway in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Jesus Christ Superstar: Live!, join the previously announced cast of Arrowhead, A New Musical which includes Bonnie Milligan (Head Over Heels), Doug Plaut (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt, Hurricane Bianca 2), Nikhil Saboo (Mean Girls),  Dani Shay (The Glee Project, America's Got Talent), Lauren Zakrin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), Laquet Sharnell Pringle (Memphis, Beautiful the carol King musical), Amber Ardolino (Hamilton, Head Over Heels), Becca Kotte (Gettin' The Band Back Together, Rock of Ages), Dan Domenech (Heathers the Musical, Glee), Jasmin Richardson (Gettin' The Band Back Together, Bodyguard the Musical) and Miles Davis Tillman, Mollie Posnik, Meadow Nguy. Rounding out the cast are Jade Turner, Elixis Morton, Dillan Smith and Jeremy Konopka. The concert is directed by Dan Barron, music directed by Michael Pacifico, produced by Franklin Livingston, with casting by Courtney Hammond.

Two-Time Tony Nominee, Martin Vidnovic (Oklahoma, Baby, etc.) will join Ali Stroker, who first rose to fame in The Glee Project on TV, and then upped the ante when she graduated into Glee. Also joining the cast are Glee Project Star Dani Shay, famous folk singer/songwriter Christine Lavin, Broadway Rising Star Dominque Solano, and visiting Australian star Catherine Alcorn. The York Theatre Company, launches the NEODevelopmental Reading Series with the workshop presentation of the new musical, A Girl Called Vincent, based on the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay, with music written and composed by Carmel Dean, directed by Dick Scanlon and music direction by Charity Wicks. The six-member cast will feature Gerard Canonico, Van Hughes, Tamika Sonja Lawrence, Kelvin Moon Loh, Bonnie Milligan and Dani Shay.
