The New Colony is pleased to announce its exciting winter line-up of Side Stage programming, a collection of free readings presented on select nights in January and February at its new home, The Den Theatre Upstairs Mainstage, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Side Stage kicks off with a five-year reunion reading of The New Colony's second season smash hit 11:11, followed by readings of three new works: STANLEY IN THE NAME OF LOVE, KIN FOLK and THUMBZ UP. Side Stage programming takes place during off-nights of The New Colony's world premiere musical PLASTIC REVOLUTION, playing January 16 - February 22, 2015. Then, the PSYCHONAUT LIBRARIANS return - and audiences are invited to help The New Colony and writer/director Sean Kelly further develop this sci-fi trilogy. Finally, travel with the company through the mysterious depths of the their cavernous home at the Dank Haus in BLACK & BURN, by Jake Sanders directed Joe Giovinnetti. Some of the greatest speakers of our generation have been a part of the conference, including Al Gore and other nerds. There's nothing Silicon Valley can do that Chicago can't do in a lazier and less impressive way. Which is why we would like to present the second edition of 'NEDtalks: Spreading Worthless Ideas.'

Chicago's premiere improv theatre iO presents Qweirdo!, a recurring showcase of Chicago's top gay comedians and improvisers coming together every Friday in June to make you laugh in the way that only your gay best friend can. The anchor improv team (not a sailor reference) is '1, 2, Fag and Hag!'. This group is Seth Dodson and Kellen Alexander of iO's long-running headlining act '1, 2, 3, Fag!' who are bringing in Chicago's top female improvisers to perform their signature improv style of intertwining scenes with bold, outrageous characters. Tickets are $14 and are available at http://chicago.ioimprov.com/io/shows/136. Show starts at 8 PM in the Cabaret Theatre.
