“Forbidden Broadway” the musical parody performs on the actual indoor stage (not the Butterfield Stage) at Starlight Theatre in Swope Park in front of an audience of about 500 wildly amused patrons.    “Forbidden Broadway” is a thorough skewering of all those Broadway shows you’ve either seen or hoped to see.  Broadway sees its own reflection in a funhouse mirror and has a big belly laugh at its own expense.  

Theatre By The Sea will welcome Gerard Alessandrini’s Forbidden Broadway Greatest Hits on August 29 for one show only. Rounding out the 2022 Monday Evening Concert Series is Gerard Alessandrini’s Forbidden Broadway Greatest Hits hosted by SiriusXM star and Forbidden Broadway legend Christine Pedi.

The Green Room 42 will present a special concert reading of the new musical, Fountain of You, on Monday May 23 at 9:30 PM. Fountain of You features book and lyrics by Tasha Gordon-Solmon and music by Faye Chiao, and stars Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls, Bring it On The Musical) and Maya Days (Rent, Aida).

The Green Room 42 has announced their May line-up for in-person performances. Located inside YOTEL Times Square (570 Tenth Avenue, Fourth Floor), The Green Room 42 is Broadway's newest and most spacious cabaret club.

While waiting for the post-COVID 19 premiere of their new funny drama about racial harmony A Black and White Cookie, Playwright Gary Morgenstein and Director Joan Kane are teaming up to present an exclusive live online reading of Morgenstein's A Tomato Can't Grow in the Bronx at CreateTheater.com's Monday Night Reading Series.

Beigel's Bakery, which has made more than 100 million black-and-white cookies since opening their first store in 1949, is pairing up with a new Off-Broadway play A BLACK AND WHITE COOKIE, a provocative new drama about racial harmony, which will run at the Theater for the New City March 26 - April 12. The pairing comes about as New York is battling surging anti-Semitism. The famed bagel maker will be sponsoring the show by handing out hundreds of their signature black and white cookies in an effort to raise visibility of the timely new show and its important and unifying subject matter.

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the July 17 opening of the Off-Broadway musical revue I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at Saint Michael's Playhouse in Colchester, Vermont. I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change features a book and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis, Nice Work If You Can Get It) and music by Jimmy Roberts (The Velveteen Rabbit, The Thing About Men) and is directed by Keith Andrews who has directed numerous SMP productions (Spamalot, Young Frankenstein, Million Dollar Quartet).

The Gateway season continues with the 'Fall Down Funny Roast of Broadway' - Forbidden Broadway running from June 5 until June 22 at The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport Village.
