Spring's Awakening, the classic play by Frank Wedekend that inspired the popular musical, opens this weekend at the Producers Club Sonnet Theater. When asked about this tragic-comedy of the teenage experience of sexual awakening's Wedekind often referred to this show as the Child's Tragedy. As the central characters face the transition into adulthood they are faced with discovering what that means for them and how it will impact their self identity as too often this subject is not one that would be discussed with the adults of this society. As preconceived notions fade, and paradigms shift, the illusions are Shed and Melchior will have to come to terms with the consequences of his actions.

Maximalista, playing this weekend at The Hudson Guild Theatre, has been praised by the Huffington Post as 'Zesty yet also smart and sympathetic.' This one act play follows Davi, who is a lover, painter, mother, and dreamer trying to hide her struggle with mental health and hyper-sexuality. Her journey is one both full of pain and pleasure as she searches for that much needed release, while fighting to reconnect with her estranged family. It is a meditation on art, family, and how far people will go to escape their inner demons.
