BIO

Dean Allyson Green is a choreographer, visual artist, curator and arts educator. Dean Green is a full professor in the Tisch School of the Arts Department of Art and Public Policy, with an affiliation in the Department of Dance, and will continue to teach in both areas.

Over 450 alumni, donors and supporters gathered at St. Ann's Warehouse on Monday night for the NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2019 Gala, honoring notable alumni Susan Kelechi Watson and Sharon Chang. The event featured several performances by current Tisch students in tribute to the two honorees. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and Martin Scorsese served as honorary co-chairs for the evening. In attendance were NYU Tisch Dean Allyson Green, NYU Provost Katherine Fleming, Grammy Award-winning music executive Clive Davis and Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad. Nearly $1 million was raised to support critical needs of talented Tisch students.

The Paul Dresher Ensemble Presents the music theater production Schick Machine September 23-25 on San Francisco's Z Space Main Stage prior to tour. Directed by Rinde Eckert virtuoso percussionist Steven Schick inhabits a fantastical stage filled with huge invented instruments and sound sculptures - including the Hurdy Grande, the Tumbler, the Field of Flowers and the Peacock (a deconstructed pipe organ). After the performance, the audience is invited onstage to engage and explore a kind of audio "maker" sound and visual domain. The production was described at its debut as 'fresh and surprising...often mind-blowing' LA Times
