BSO Welcomes New Executive Director David Schillhammer

Brevard Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment of David Schillhammer as its new executive director. Schillhammer replaces Fran Delisle, who is retiring this season after 25 years in that role.  Schillhammer, a veteran orchestra administrator with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, begins in mid-January 2019.
Orlando Shakes Seeks New Plays For PLAYFEST 2019

Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF is seeking bold, new, full-length plays to be featured as staged readings at PlayFest 2019. Unsolicited ten-page samples will be accepted between January 5 and January 19, 2019. Due to overwhelming interest, the new play development team will cap unsolicited submissions at the first 100 received.

Theatre South Playhouse of Orlando announces it's production and auditions for 'BE MORE CHILL' the hit Off-Broadway musical that is heading to Broadway this February 2019. Theatre South Playhouse is amongst the very few Theatre Companies able to hold licensing for the show now that it's Broadway bound. Executive Director Hillary Brook tell us, 'Our teens have been begging us to do the show since the soundtrack first came out in 2015. We grabbed the rights last spring not knowing that the show would get so incredibly popular and head to Broadway.'

Grammy nominated and multi-platinum artist, Aaron Lewis is set to return to the King Center on March 11.  Lewis first made his country debut in 2011 with certified gold single "Country Boy" followed by the release of his first full length solo album, The Road. "Country Boy" featured Charlie Daniels on fiddle and a booming verse from George Jones as well as Chris Young striking a balance between classic and modern country.

Legendary Broadway icon and Tony Award-winner Chita Rivera will headline the Garden Theatre's annual Encore celebration on March 9, 2019. Ms. Rivera will perform her signature songs and share behind-the-scenes stories from her illustrious career. Corporate sponsorship packages are available now for the Garden's benefit gala. Roald's Dahl's Matilda the Musical is the first show of Garden Theatre's 2019-2020 season to be announced. The Central Florida premiere of Matilda will run at Garden Theatre during the 2019-2020 season. 2018-2019 Garden Theatre subscribers will have first access to purchase tickets to Matilda and other productions before they are available to the general public. A 2018-2019 three-show subscription starts at $84 and can be purchased at gardentheatre.org.
