‘‘Day after day we’d meet in the same field. Our relationship a complete secret. It wasn’t that it was considered ‘not cool’ that kept us hiding, gay wasn’t even a word for homosexual yet. It was that we would lose everything. But eventually I realized I was willing to lose everything but this. He wasn’t.’’

Inspired by an anonymous story, HoosierMuse has created a story of forbidden love and racial stigma. An American and a Lebanese man who have grown fond of each other, find their only safe haven in a field outside of town. It becomes their nest, preferred home, refuge and battleground. The Field uses original English and Arabic text intertwined with movement based storytelling created by the ensemble.
