Veteran Voices: Reckoning is a free-to-the-public reading of original work by veterans and the family members of veterans.
Warrior cultures of the past such as the Greeks, Romans, and Native Americans welcomed their military home in rituals of storytelling. Following in that tradition, Poetic Theater's Veteran Voices program seeks to revive these practices by creating an environment for veterans to share their stories, supporting their process of expression to inform others and help them recognize that their experiences do not define them.
Featured Artists include: Chris Barnes, Steph Cash-Beckner, Stacey Bell, Amanda S. Cherry, Frank Dolce, Miguel A. Faña, Leo Farley, knisi, Tara Krause, Craig Manbauman, Katie Meyer, J.A. Moad II, Jenny Pacanowski, Cari Greywolf Rowan, Maria Salazar, James P. Stanton, and Sharon C. Wallace.
The event is curated by Jenny Pacanowski, J.A. Moad II, and Omar Columbus with direction by Karen Alvarado, and MJ McConnell, is stage managed by Ellen Mischinski, and is produced by Kelly Teaford.
