NINE BROADWAY WORLD AWARD WINNER 2023 BEST NEW PLAY BEST PRODUCTION BEST PERFORMANCE BEST DIRECTION BEST SCENIC DESIGN BEST SOUND DESIGN BEST LIGHTING DESIGN BEST COSTUME DESIGN BEST ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY “Mandela” enacts the untold story that examines the involvement of the CIA in the arrest of Nelson Mandela. Unlike other portrayals of Nelson Mandela this off-Broadway play dares not to sanitize the experiences of Mandela, his wife Winnie and the ANC. “Mandela” also pushes the envelope by cleverly enacting how the U.S. and South Africa mirrored each other as protesting Blacks from both countries suffered similar injustices while fighting against apartheid.
