The acclaimed Spanish pianist José Menor, a "beguiling mix of finesse and fire" (The Daily Telegraph, UK), performs a recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 8:00 pm. The program, titled "Love & Death in New York", features piano music by Enrique Granados and is performed on the 100th anniversary of the composer's death. The program is the pinnacle of Menor's world tour in honor of the late composer. Highlights of the program include Goyescas, Granados's tribute to the colorful work of the late 18th century painter Francisco Goya; the seven fragmented waltzes that make up Valses Poéticos; and the US premiere of Improvisation on El Pelele transcribed by Menor, among others of Granados' works. Complete program details are below.
