"Don't Be So Hard on Yourself" is a cabaret concert of new songs written by Alex Syiek (alongside some guest songwriters) built around a simple but resonant idea: that we are often our own harshest critics, and that there is real power — and real humor — in learning to sing those harsh words, and letting them go. Alex and a cast of stunning friends each bring their own voice and perspective to the intimate, funny, and cathartic material. It's a hour spent in the company of people who are all figuring it out together.
Come see why critics have said such things about Alex as "vocally thrilling" (Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune), "he sings meaning not words" (Roy Berko, Broadwayworld) and "you have no shame, do you Alex?" (Bill Finn, NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program)
