The 2023 Joy in Singing First place award winner Claire McCahan, mezzo soprano, and Barbara Noyes, collaborative piano present an evening of art song at Weill Recital Hall. This program aims to dispel the illusion of our distance to the past and instead offers an exploration of the cyclical nature of the human experience. Through juxtapositions of works by Franz Schubert, Rebecca Clarke, Libby Larsen, Jake Heggie, Leslie Adams, Francis Poulenc, and Geroge Crumb, the program explores the desire to find answers in the darkness and meaning in the time we are given.
