THE NUTCRACKER - Maine State Ballet Non Equity Auditions

Maine State Ballet will hold auditions for its annual holiday classic, The Nutcracker, on Friday, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th. Auditions are held at the Maine State Ballet studios, 348 U.S. Route One in Falmouth.

Dancers must be at least 7 years old by October 15, 2016, to audition. Dancers do not have to be affiliated with the Maine State Ballet School to audition; all dancers at all levels are invited. There is a $10 registration fee.

Performance dates for The Nutcracker are November 25-27 and December 2-4, 2016. Dancers must be available for all performance and rehearsal dates. The Nutcracker is performed at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, with a live orchestra.

Dancers aged 13 and older will audition on Friday, September 9. Dancers in grades 2 through 7 will audition on Saturday, September 10.

Girls should wear black leotards and pink tights, hair in a bun. Boys should wear black tights, white shirt, and black or white ballet shoes.

Friday, September 9th:

4:30-5:30 – Ages 13 to 15

6:00-7:00 – Ages 16 and up

Saturday, September 10th:

12:30-1:15 – Grades 2 and 3

2:00-2:45 – Grades 4 and 5

3:30-4:30 – Grades 6 and 7
