Cherokee Historical Association is seeking actors and dancers for the 2026 season of Unto These Hills outdoor drama. We prioritize hiring Indigenous performers, but all are welcome to audition.
Unto These Hills, which is the 3rd oldest outdoor drama in the country, tells the story of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians from first contact with Europeans through the removal west on the infamous Trail of Tears. The show includes stage combat, dances, large ensemble scenes, and pyrotechnics. The show is performed in a 2100+ seat outdoor amphitheater with a sand stage.
We prioritize hiring Indigenous artists, especially local members of the Cherokee community. Company housing is available for out-of-town actors and technicians.
To audition, please send a filmed monologue of no more than 2 minutes, headshot, and resume to Marina@CherokeeAdventure.com. If you have a dance reel or fight reel, please send those too. In your email, please include any tribal affiliations, if applicable.
Technicians may also submit resumes to Marina@CherokeeAdventure.com.
