Roxbury Arts Alliance Presents The Diary of Anne Frank

A Powerful Tribute to Courage, Hope, and Humanity

Succasunna, NJ — The Roxbury Arts Alliance is proud to present The Diary of Anne Frank, a deeply moving stage play by Frances Goodrich & Albert Hackett and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman of one of the most poignant personal accounts of the Holocaust. Performances will take place at the Roxbury Arts Alliance, Citizens Bank Theater located at the Horseshoe Lake complex in Succasunna, offering audiences a chance to experience Anne’s story in an intimate and emotionally resonant setting.

Based on the writings from Anne Frank’s diary, this production brings to life the voice of a young girl whose spirit and insight continue to inspire generations. Set in the secret annex where Anne and her family hid for over two years, the play captures the resilience, fear, and hope of those living under unimaginable circumstances.

“This is more than a play—it’s a reminder of the strength of the human spirit,” says Darlene Yannetta, director of the Roxbury Arts Alliance production. “We’ve approached this work with deep respect and care, honoring Anne’s legacy and the millions of lives affected by the Holocaust.”

The cast features Allegra Tumbleson as Anne, Rick Brown as Mr. Frank, Debra Carozza as Mrs. Frank, Rachel Christie as Margo Frank, Stephen Federbusch as Mr. Van Daan, Janice Kildea as Mrs. Van Daan, Jake Hamilton as Peter Van Daan, Michael Donahue as Mr. Dussel, Alice Neecek as Miep and Terry Edlefsen as Mr. Kraler.  The production team and cast are dedicated to historical accuracy and emotional authenticity. The Roxbury Arts Alliance invites the community to join in this important cultural moment and reflect on the enduring relevance of Anne’s words.
