LOVE LETTERS to Feature Two Casts at Street Theatre, 2/1 & 2

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Street Theatre Company opens its 2013 season with two special performances of Love Letters. Love Letters by A. R. Gurney was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play is a unique and imaginative theatre piece that is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. Evocative, touching, frequently funny, as the actors read the letters aloud, they chronicle over nearly 50 years of hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.
Monique Lhuillier Fall '13 Designs to be Featured at Symphony Spring Fashion Show, 4/9

Nashville Symphony has announced Monique Lhuillier as the featured designer for the Symphony Spring Fashion Show, taking place April 9, 2013, at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Co-chaired by Elizabeth Broyhill and Elizabeth Dennis, the show will preview Lhuillier's Fall 2013 Collection and will be emceed by television personality Allison DeMarcus. A cocktail party will take place from 6-6:30 p.m., and the Schermerhorn's Laura Turner Concert Hall will be transformed into an elegant designer runway for the show, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a stylish soirée.

Written by Memphis native Katori Hall, The Mountaintop is a reimagining of the events of April 3rd, 1968. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has just returned to his room at The Lorraine Motel after giving one of his most memorable speeches. When a mysterious young woman visits his room with some surprising news, Dr. King must come to terms with his destiny in the play The Associated Press called a, "thrilling, wonderful, provocative flight of magical realism." Winner of the 2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play.

Edna Lou Neblett Chaffin-perhaps better known to members of Nashville's theater community as "Puny"-one-half of the couple who created The Barn Dinner Theatre that ultimately became Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, died Monday, December 10, after a long illness.
