Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Catch Me If You Can will go on sale Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at 9 a.m. in person at the State Theatre Box Office and at 10 a.m. online through HennepinTheatreTrust.org or by calling 1.800.982.2787. Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, Catch Me If You Can debuts in Minnesota December 11-16, 2012 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre. It is part of Hennepin Theatre Trust's 2012/13 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season.

The 2012 Twin Cities Horror Festival Will Run 10/25-11/3

For ten days this fall, seven different groups present an exploration of the genres of horror through a multitude of performance disciplines at the 2012 Twin Cities Horror Festival at the Southern Theater. The festival features local theater, storytelling, dance and music artists presenting their take on the theme of "horror." The festival will present more than 30 performances over two weekends with a costume dance party and late night horror film showing on Halloween night.

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres brings its audiences a fresh rendition of a musical classic never before seen on the Main Stage with BYE BYE BIRDIE. This all-American musical will light up the stage with preview performances from October 5 through 18. Official grand opening festivities take place on October 19. Artistic Director Bain Boehlke directs the duo who play two old friends debating the meaning of life and the absurdities of human behavior in this funny, captivating and illuminating production. Allen Hamilton (Pozzo) and Charles Schuminski (Lucky) round out the cast.

The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul and the Guthrie today announced a new partnership that will link the two organizations in an ongoing series of film screenings and programming that will provide a new home for the popular filmed-theater series NT Live originating from the National Theatre of London, as well as films selected and curated by the Film Society inspired by the Guthrie's upcoming 2012-2013 season, its 50th. All films in the partnership will be screened at the Film Society's St. Anthony Main Theatre, located at 115 SE Main Street in Minneapolis.

The Guthrie Theater announces the presentation of Trick Boxing by Sossy Mechanics, a fast-paced physical comedy full of rapid-fire dialogue, "Fred-and-Ginger style dancing" and puppetry that The New York Times called "the best show I have seen" when it played at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2010. Trick Boxing premiered to great success at the 2002 Minnesota Fringe Festival, has since played to audiences around the U.S., Canada and the U.K., and will appear in the Guthrie's Dowling Studio from tonight, August 17-September 2, 2012.

The Commonweal Theatre Company, located in historic downtown Lanesboro, has been the recipient of grant monies totaling nearly $50,000 during the first half of 2012. Now in its twenty-fourth season, the Commonweal continues to serve as a cultural, educational, and economic asset to the region. Currently, the non-profit theatre is in the midst of its summer repertory, featuring two plays: romantic-comedy The Philadelphia Story, and zany spy-story spoof, The 39 Steps.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that flexible ticket packages including productions from the 2012/13 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, August 15 at 10 a.m. Shear Madness and Monty Python's Spamalot have been added as season specials as well as Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, a co-production in partnership with Theater Latte Da. Aida, directed by the acclaimed Peter Rothstein, which runs January 3-27, 2013 at the Pantages Theatre. Shear Madness will be at the Pantages, February 27-March 17, 2013 and Spamalot at the Orpheum Theatre, March 15-16, 2013.

This new offer, only $66 for three shows including all fees, allows patrons to save 20% over the single ticket price.
