Dubbed as Minnesota's own Celtic Woman, Katie McMahon graces the stage of The O'Shaughnessy again this year to celebrate the holidays through music, story and dance. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Celtic Christmas at The O'Shaughnessy. To celebrate this special year, McMahon will feature Christmas music in 10 different languages. New selections include The Huron Carol, The Cherry Tree Carol, Balulalow, Rocking, We wish you a Merry Christmas, and The Wren in the Furze. Audiences are welcome to sing along during Ding Dong Merrily on High, and Joy to the World. And Christmas traditions from Canada and throughout Europe will be celebrated onstage through rousing Celtic carols and Irish dancing.

McMahon will be joined on stage by recent McKnight grant recipient Karen Mueller on autoharp, guitar and bouzouki, Zack Kline playing the fiddle and octave fiddle and Michael Bissonnette on percussion, with the vocal talents of Jenny Russ, David Moore and Eric Pratt. Also featuring The Corda Mor Irish Dance Troupe, directed by Fauna Gille.

Katie McMahon has been described as "Poetry, perfection, and purity," by the Irish Times. Her powerful soprano singing is best known as the original voice of Riverdance. McMahon has been delighting national and international audiences since her debut in the 1990s. Her original Riverdance single topped the charts in Ireland for three months. While on tour in 1998 in Minneapolis Katie met her future husband Ben Craig. They were married in 2000 in Killarney, Ireland and now reside in Minneapolis. McMahon has released four solo CDs and tours nationally and internationally as a solo artist and with the group, Secret Garden.
