Southern Theater Kicks Off Tip One Back For The Southern 10/30

On Sunday October 30 the Southern Theater will kick off a year long series of fundraisers titled "Tip One Back For The Southern". Partnering with local brewers, distillers, restaurants, and confectioners; the series will feature tasting events on the Southern stage and live music by local musicians.

The first in the series is a partnership with Town Hall Brewery, a local craft brewery and staple of the Minneapolis craft beer scene. Mike Hoops (master brewer at Town Hall) will be pouring and discussing five of Town Hall's beers on the Southern stage.
The beers that will be sampled that evening are:

Hope and King Scotch Ale
Dortmunder
Oktoberfest
Three Hour Tour
Columbus(CTZ) Red

At the 2011 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO Town Hall Brewery walked away with three awards. With four thousand beers chasing 248 medals this was an amazing achievement. We are featuring their gold medal winner in their Hope and King Scotch Ale.

Providing the Soundtrack for the evening will be Chihuahua City. One of the many bands that Southern Theater Board of Directors member DeVon Gray has put together; Chihuahua City promises to be funky, jazzy, upbeat and energizing.

Tickets are available for pre-purchase at tiponeback.eventbrite.com for $15. On Oct 30 they will be available at the door for $20. The majority of the proceeds will benefit the Southern Theater.
