The 2026 Michigan Playwrights Festival at Theatre NOVA will showcase five to six original full-length plays by Michigan-based playwrights from August 12 to 16, 2026. Each selected work will be presented through readings, followed by audience talkbacks and feedback sessions. This festival celebrates the talent of local playwrights and aims to foster their development in a collaborative and supportive environment. Playwrights will receive a stipend and complimentary tickets to their readings, emphasizing Theatre NOVA’s commitment to new voices in theater.
