Grosse Point South Presents SECOND SUBURB 5/7, 5/8
Grosse Pointe South's Funniest Batch presents: "Second Suburb" at City Theatre On Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m. A premier comedy tradition, the show is written and produced by eight Grosse Pointe South Students and features satire on Grosse Pointe life and pop culture.
The improv troupe was formed two decades ago. It was initially funded by Grosse Pointe South but was later cut due to controversial material. When it was sponsored by South the group received funding from the school, now the money for the venue and props are completely paid for by the students involved.
The troupe was revived last year after a three year hiatus, performing for the first time outside Grosse Pointe. It premiered to rave reviews and a sold out show.
The eight member cast - seniors Pete Basile, Charlie Magee, Stu Bristol, Alex O'Neill, Mike Temrowski and Alexis Mabry, and juniors John Dennehy and Nora Beierwaltes - has been writing the show since January.
