BLUR to Make U.S. Premiere at MAD Arts This Fall
The XR theater production, which merges live performance with motion capture, VR and AR, will have its first U.S. run at the Dania Beach, Florida museum and technology hub.
BLUR is an internationally acclaimed XR theater experience merging live performance, motion capture, virtual reality and augmented reality. Written and directed by Craig Quintero and Phoebe Greenberg, the 45-minute, actor-led production immerses small groups in a surreal dreamscape set in a near future where cloning, genetic engineering and de-extinction are reality. Audiences journey through visions of resurrection before confronting an uncanny reflection of themselves, grappling with questions of grief, identity, memory and whether science can defeat death. Following its world premiere at Taiwan's National Theater and runs in Germany and Canada, BLUR makes its U.S. premiere at MAD Arts.
