The Tony Award-Winning Musical ONCE Opens At The LPAC December 5

Once, the winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will open at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) on December 5th and run through December 22nd. The musical is based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film of the same name, which was written and directed by John Carney, and starred Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, with original music and lyrics by Mr. Hansard and Ms. Irglová.  (The multiple award-winning Once has also won Grammy and Olivier awards.)

SculptureCenter has announced their return for the 2019 edition of NADA Miami to present new work by Sam Anderson. Anderson's Time Crisis 4 is a series of ten works created expressly for SculptureCenter. Each work represents four stylized female figures, sequentially arranged by age from young to old in one of five semi-transparent resin colors.

Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the highest national recognition afforded the nation's museums. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, governments, funders, outside agencies, and to the museum-going public.  All museums must undergo a re-accreditation review at least every 10 years to maintain accredited status.

Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) is proud to present a solo exhibition by Alicia Rodriguez.  Palimpsest features large-format mixed media paintings, which appear monochromatic at first look, but later reveal a metaphoric connection between the tragic events taking place in her native country of Venezuela and Dante's Inferno. Her work will be on view in the West Gallery from December 6, 2019 through January 28, 2020. MOAD MDC Awarded $120,000 To Implement Immersive Technologies

Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) was awarded a $120,000 grant to implement immersive technologies related to their upcoming exhibition, Forensic Architecture: True to Scale. Awarded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Microsoft, MOAD's proposal was selected among a pool of more than 500 applicants responding to the Knight Foundation/Microsoft immersive technologies in the arts call for ideas. Distributing a total of $750,000 to four winners, MOAD is the only Miami-based institution selected for this prestigious grant.
