Where I Come From is a solo play written and performed by Jerry Metzker, exploring the harrowing journey of 19-year-old Fergus Maloney as he escapes the Great Hunger in Ireland in 1847. Directed by Robert Lucchesi, the narrative follows Fergus from famine-stricken Ireland to New York City, delving into themes of deprivation, loss, and hope as he seeks to build a new life as a refugee. This production is part of PlayGround's 2024 Free-Play Festival, showcasing a variety of new works over three weeks.
