Brilliantly exploring the complexity of the human heart, it also predates Edwards Albee’s "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" in its scathing examination of a marriage. A contemporary of Noël Coward and Somerset Maugham, Rattigan’s wit and depth remain timeless.
