This funny and tender two-hander introduces us to former college sweethearts unexpectedly reunited during a snowstorm at a middle-of-nowhere airport. Over the course of one long night, the pair rediscover old flames, revisit youthful dreams, and wrestle with the “what ifs” that linger after love. With Dietz’s trademark wit and poignancy, Shooting Star is both a charming romantic comedy and a moving meditation on the roads not taken.
Featuring Analeis Anderson as Elena and Doug Mattingly Directed by Tara Donovan. Design team includes Tara Donovan (Set), Joyce Hutter (Scenic Painter), Robert Black (Sound), Bunni Gutierrez (Lighting), Aja Morris-Smiley (Costumes), Bouket Fingerhut (Props), and Jen Albert (Intimacy Director), with Evelyn Pham as Stage Manager.
What makes this production so enthralling along with Donovan’s tight direction is the immersive effect of feeling involved in the lives of these two lonely people as they openly reveal their fears and feelings as the 90-minute play unfolds.

After re-opening earlier this month with its annual Pick of the Vine festival, The Pond at Little Fish Theatre launches the 2025–26 season with its first full-length production in the new space: King James, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) and directed by acclaimed South African filmmaker Akin Omotoso.
