Le Switch


Le Switch  is a romantic comedy that explores the anxieties and changing identities within the gay community following the rise of marriage equality. Set between 2011 and 2014, the story centers on David, a 35-year-old commitment-phobic New Yorker, who must re-evaluate his identity and relationships after gay marriage becomes legal.

Danny Bernardo

David
Danny is the founder and artistic producer of Broken Token Productions. Notable theatre credits include originating the role of “Joe” in the world premiere of Lauren Yee’s Young Americans at Portland Center Stage/Pittsburgh Public Theatre, “Harry Bright” in Mamma Mia! at McCoy Rigby/La Mirada, “El Gallo” in The Fantasticks at Ruskin Group Theatre, and “Dan” in Wally World at Steppenwolf. He has worked with such theatres as Goodman, About Face, Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, Porchlight Music Theatre, Musical Theatre West, Coeurage, and East West Players (where he is a teaching artist). As a filmmaker, his work has been seen around the world at such festivals as Cannes (Court Metrage), OutFest Fusion, Reeling, and Perth International Queer Film Festival.


Christine Lin

Sarah
Christine most recently could be seen at Pasadena Playhouse in Cyrano de Bergerac. A Chicagoland native, Christine originated the role of "Miss Zhao" in David Henry Hwang's Chinglish on Broadway and at the Goodman Theatre. Additional stage: Back Room Shakespeare Project, CalArts CNP at the Huntington Library, Cincinnati Playhouse, Nashville Repertory Theatre, Firefly Theater & Films, Stir-Friday Night! (sketch comedy). Screen: Quiz Lady, Abominable, Surfside Girls, The Blacklist, Gossip Girl, American Horror Story, Ghost of Tsushima (video game). Education: Steppenwolf West, Second City Chicago Conservatory, UCB NYC/LA, Duke University BSE in electrical and biomedical engineering.


Brian Kim McCormick

Brian is a MN/NYC/LA nomad whose career spans theater, film, and voiceover. His LA stagework includes "Kayama" in Pacific Overtures at East West Players, South Coast Repertory (You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Little Shop of Horrors, The Incredible Book Eating Boy), Musical Theatre West (The Sound of Music, Into the Woods), Ammunition Theatre (Revenge Porn by Carla Ching), and the LA Opera (West Side Story). His voice can be heard on numerous English Dubs including Squid Game and Light Shop and as the narrator of Stacy Lee's Winston Chu versus the Whimsies among many others.


Jonathan Moreno

Benoit
An El Paso, Texas native, Jonathan Moreno is an actor and multi-instrumentalist whose work is a blend of artistry, advocacy, and authenticity. A graduate of AMDA College, Jonathan has brought his versatility to the stage in Le Switch by Philip Dawkins and Sam Henry Kass’s Death with Dignity Comes in a Milkshake, as well as to television in The Story Behind the Story and various national commercials. With a deep passion for amplifying underrepresented voices, he uses his craft to champion stories of minorities and marginalized communities. His musical background fuels his performances with rhythm and raw energy, leaving audiences engaged and inspired.

Spenser Davis

Director
Spenser is an award-winning theatre director, playwright, filmmaker and recent transplant from Chicago to Los Angeles. A recipient of the Michael Maggio Directing Fellowship at the Goodman Theatre, he has helmed productions and developed new work with Steppenwolf 1700, A Red Orchid, American Blues, The Factory, First Floor, Hell in a Handbag, Promethean, and Broken Nose Theatre, where he was an ensemble member for a decade. Honors include Best Director Awards from Chicago (Jeff Award) and Austin, TX (B. Iden Payne Award), the Osborn New Play Award from the American Theatre Critics Association, two new-play commissions from South Coast Rep, and numerous Best-of-Year lists from the likes of Chicago Tribune, Time Out Magazine and the late critic Kris Vire. Currently, he’s developing a new musical, as well as numerous film and television projects, and he’s proud to be represented by both William Morris Endeavor + Heroes and Villains Entertainment.

Dawkins’s plays include Failure: A Love Story (Victory Gardens Theater), Charm (MCC Theatre; Northlight; Jeff Award, Best New Work), Miss Marx: Or The Involuntary Side Effect of Living (Strawdog; Jeff Award, Best New Work), The Homosexuals and Le Switch (About Face,), The Happiest Place on Earth (Greenhouse/Side Show), The Gentleman Caller and The Comedians (Raven Theatre) and the book and lyrics for Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches, the Musical with composer David Mallamud at Children’s Theater Company, Minneapolis.
