Set during the Salem witch trials, GOODY is out to prove that she is a witch to finally have her moment in the spotlight. GOODY is a solo clown show offering an immersive experience where the audience plays the pivotal role of deciding her fate. Debuting at Hollywood Fringe Festival 2026, Elena Martinez presents a playful and absurd reimagining of a dark moment in history that asks: “How far are we willing to go to get what we want?” Through a series of acts of witchcraft, GOODY seeks to be condemned in the name of fame.
GOODY explores what we get based on what we think we need. We all create narratives about how to get what we want often without factoring in that we have no control over what we will receive. GOODY is a fated tale about the tunnel vision of ambition and spite.
GOODY stars Elena Martinez and was co-devised by Elena Martinez and Franny Harold. Franny Harold also served as director and assisted in technical design.
Elena Martinez is an award-winning storyteller and theater maker who explores the dark comedy of what it means to be alive. She brings over a decade of experience in improv and sketch comedy to the stage underlined by a childhood of classical piano training. Her first solo show, “One Night in Aurora”, debuted at Sketchfest Seattle in 2017 – a musical and stream of consciousness retrospective about love, dreams, and misunderstandings. Elena’s ensemble sketch comedy group, Getting Naked with Friends, performed headlining sets at Seattle Sketchfest in 2016 and 2017. Her duo, Sober Virgin, with Anthony Householder explored the altered perspectives of codependency and addiction in their 2018 show “Short Stories”. Before relocating to Los Angeles, Elena toured her holiday musical parody duo show with Rachel Walls and joined the illustrious cast of beloved Seattle improv show Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas. You can catch her regularly performing in and out of Los Angeles with her indie improv team, Dough Dough, who has performed at Das Improv Festival, London Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, ioFest, and many others.
Franny Harold is an award-winning writer, performer, and clown from New Orleans. She has a degree in film and theater from the now defunct University of New Orleans, and has been an improviser for over a decade. She is currently a member of the clown ensemble, Holy Holy, and sketch troupe, Goose. She’s taken original works to Moontower Just For Laugh’s, San Francisco Sketch Fest, and Frontera Fest.
Elena debuted FUNERAL SHOW at Hollywood Fringe Festival 2025. Co-devised by Natasha Mercado, FUNERAL SHOW received a near sold-out run and was awarded BEST IMMERSIVE & GAMES 2025. Elena has been touring FUNERAL SHOW since June 2025 in preparation for her Edinburgh Fringe Festival premiere August 17-29, 2026.
