Lavender Men is a poignant film adaptation directed by Lovell Holder, based on Roger Q. Mason's acclaimed stage play. The story follows Taffeta, played by Mason, a beleaguered stage manager entangled in a struggling production about Abraham Lincoln. As Taffeta navigates tumultuous relationships and confronts their quest for connection, they reimagine the historical romance between Lincoln and army sergeant Elmer Ellsworth, portrayed by Pete Ploszek. This narrative blends theater, history, and queer identity, serving as both a chamber drama and an exploration of personal truth.
