This country will break your heart. The Victory Theatre Center presents the moving story of a post-World War II interracial marriage by Tony® Award-winning playwright Warren Leight (Side Man). An African American soldier and a white woman fall in love the night World War II ends — a time of euphoria for Americans after years of devastating conflict. But can that sense of good will and new beginnings wipe away the racial mistrust and discrimination in a country still deeply mired in the Jim Crow Era? The Victory Theatre Center, 3326 W Victory Blvd, Burbank, CA 91505; $28-$40; (818) 841-5421; www.thevictorytheatrecenter.org

News About Home Front at Victory Theatre
Review: HOME FRONT at Victory Theatre Center
“On a night like this, anything can happen,” says Lt. James Walker, “The world is never going to be the way it was.” In a strong West Coast premiere at the Victory Theatre directed by Maria Gobetti, Warren Leight’s gut punch of a play, HOME FRONT, proceeds to prove Lt. Walker both correct and devastatingly wrong.

Interview: Warren Leight of HOME FRONT at The Victory Theatre
