Asia America New Music Institute (AANMI) presents Echoes of Home, a program of new works exploring the places, people, and memories that shape our sense of belonging. The concert features two world premieres by AANMI founder Chad Cannon and Chinese composer Weijun Chen, the West Coast premiere of Monologue II for solo piano by SunYoung Park, and additional works for string quartet, harp, and solo voice by composers including Niall Taro, Alex Williams, Ari Sol, Kian Ravaei, Nichagarn Chiracharasp*rn, and Emily Chiu. The AANMI ensemble features violinists Kyle Gilner and Chad Cannon, Rita Andrade on viola, Niall Taro on cello, Ari Sol on harp, Coco Ma on piano, and Miko Shudo on vocals. The program reflects on Asian American communities in Los Angeles and broader meditations on home across continents and cultures.
