Brightwork newmusic concludes its Sierra Madre Playhouse residency with a concert of provocative, humorous and deeply human works inspired by civic life and social change, curated by Artistic Director Aron Kallay. Highlights include the world premiere of What Remains (Ancheh Mimanad) by Hesam Abedini, along with works by Ted Hearne, Ian Dicke, Alvin Singleton, and Frederic Rzewski. The program also features an arrangement of Matt Marks' This Will Hurt Someone and a world premiere video accompanying Rzewski's Coming Together, with narration by actress Tracey Leigh. Featured musicians include Aron Kallay on piano, Mona Tian on violin, Zack Reaves on cello, Sara Andon on flute, Brian Walsh on clarinet, Nick Terry on percussion, and Fahad Siadat on tenor.
