FELLOW TRAVELERS Premiere, EVITA and More Set for Bay Street Theater's 2018 Season

Bay Street Theater has announced the three productions planned for the 2018 Mainstage Summer Season. The first will be the World Premiere of FELLOW TRAVELERS, (May 29 - June 17), a new play by Jack Canfora. The second will be FROST/NIXON (June 26 - July 22), by Peter Morgan. The third production is the musical EVITA, (July 31 - August 26) by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

Star Female Filmmakers From JBFC Selected For Sundance Film Festival & Named Sundance Ignite Fellows

Jacob Burns Film Center's (JBFC) fellows are making headlines! Sundance Institute just announced the newest round of 2018 Sundance Ignite Fellows, chosen from a global crop of more than 800 applicants. JBFC fellows Crystal Kayiza and Rahessa Vit rio were both selected as finalists, with Crystal ultimately receiving one of the 15 fellowships. The fifteen 18-to-24-year-old filmmakers were selected from a short film competition and will receive a year of creative and professional mentorship, and an all-expenses-paid trip to 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Crystal's submission Why We Stay and Rahessa's submission Saudade were produced in the JBFC's Creative Culture Program.

Theatre Three's 34th annual production of the iconic Charles Dickens story A Christmas Carol has certainly become a beautiful tradition on Long Island. A young group of actors from Long Island had the experience of a lifetime as they journeyed to New York City in November to see a performance of the Broadway revival Once on This Island, currently playing at Circle in the Square. Since September, the children and their production team at Stagelight Academy, based in Lindenhurst, NY, have been working on their own production of Once on This Island Jr. Following the Broadway performance, they met with producers and actors and revelled in the excitement and inspiration of seeing the show they would soon stage back home.
