In a joint effort to produce and foster new work, The Living Room, in association with the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, will present a concert reading of Nathan Tysen and the popular Midwest band Joe's Pet Project's new rock theatre piece Stillwater. This exciting new fusion of rock concert and musical theatre will be performed with actors from Kansas City, New York and Chicago, at 7 pm and 10 pm, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at The Living Room 1818 McGee Street in Kansas City, MO.

The Kansas City Actors Theatre moves to Muehlebach Funeral Home for its production of Jeffrey Hatcher's Three Viewings. This dark comedy, set in a mid-western funeral home, explores love and death in a trilogy of touching and interconnected monologues. We meet three memorable characters Emil, a lovelorn funeral director with hidden depths of heart, Mac, a vivacious woman with a covert agenda and Virginia, whose husband's death leaves her with a new 'view' into the love of her life.

Branson's New Shanghai Theatre to Host Cultural Festival, 10/8-11

New Shanghai Theatre in Branson, Missouri will host the 1st Annual Shanghai Cultural Festival from October 8 through October 11, 2013. Visitors will enjoy special performances by guest artists from Shanghai, China during the Acrobats of China featuring the New Shanghai Circus regular performances at 8:00pm on October 8th and 3:00 & 8:00pm on October 9, 10, and 11, 2013. The Tuesday evening show on October 8 at 8:00pm will include opening ceremonies and traditional Chinese dumplings. Doors open at 7:00pm. Call 417-336-8888 for reservations.

Brian Sills returns to Kansas City Repertory Theatre to star in David Sedaris' irreverent holiday comedy The SantaLand Diaries, about the merry misadventures of an out-of-work New York writer hired to play an elf named Crumpet in a Macy's SantaLand. The show is directed by the Rep's Producing Director Jerry Genochio and runs November 29-December 22 at Copaken Stage. Sills is well known to Rep audiences who cheered his performance as the emcee in the 2011 critically acclaimed production of Cabaret.
