SEEKING

Equity actors over the age of 18 to fill available roles in our 2021-22 Season. (See breakdown.)

Please note:
To meet Equity guidelines, all actors must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus to be considered for casting.

Tipping Point Theatre exclusively hires talent that qualify as a local hire under Equity guidelines.

INSTRUCTIONS

Please prepare 2-3 minutes of scripted material. Comedy is preferred.

First Rehearsal : October 25th, 2021
Opening : Nov 20, 2021
Closing : Dec 19, 2021

Scrooge - Male, standard English, 50-60 years old

Track 4: Female, available to play various characters from ages 35-40, ensemble characters

Track 5: Male, available to play various characters from Tiny Tim (age 7) to Mr. Grimes (age 60), ensemble characters

Track 1: Gender Inclusive, able to play a variety of characters & ages (Cast)

Track 2: Gender Inclusive, able to play a variety of characters & ages (Cast)

Track 3: Gender Inclusive, able to play a variety of characters & ages (Cast)

The Play That Goes Wrong by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, & Henry Shields
First Rehearsal: Jan 10, 2021
Opening: Feb 5, 2021
Closing: Mar 6, 2021

Annie: the company’s stage manager, Lancashire accent

Stage Crew: the Cornley Polytechnic stage crew

Trevor: the company’s lighting & sound operator

Chris: head of the drama society, director of the play & plays ‘Inspector Carter’

Jonathan: plays ‘Charles Haversham’

Robert: plays ‘Thomas Colleymoore’

Dennis: plays ‘Perkins’

Max: plays ‘Cecil Haversham’ & ‘Arthur’

Sandra: plays ‘Florence Colleymoore’ **This role requires Partial Nudity(revealing costumes and possible costume changes on stage)**

The Baxter Sisters by Kim Carney
First Rehearsal: March 7, 2021
Opening: April 2,2021
Closing: April 24, 2021

(Actors cast will play characters along various age ranges)

April: the oldest of the tap dancing group, the mother of the group

May: the most talented & driven Baxter sister, yearns for her day of fame to come (Cast)

June: the other middle Baxter sister, loves the thrill of boys and trouble, spunky redhead (Cast)

Peggy: the baby of the tap dancing group, narrator, sweet, a true star that never saw her day (Cast)

*All roles contain content that requires: Theatrical Intimacy (witnessing or performing choreographed non-sexual physical contact, dialogue that alludes to sexual intimacy, possible onstage costume changes, and Other Intimate Content (Performing or witnessing simulated substance abuse)

*All roles require a basic knowledge and ability to tap dance.


The Mountaintop by Katori Hall

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.- 39, african american, sincere but comical, wise older uncle

Camae - young 20s, breath-takingly beautiful, witty & wise beyond her years. Seems to know more than she lets on. (Cast)

*All Roles contain content that requires: Theatrical Intimacy (witnessing or performing choreographed non-sexual physical contact, dialogue that alludes to sexual intimacy), and Other Intimate Content (Performing or witnessing profanity, derogatory language, and racial trauma)


Tracy Jones by Stephen Kaplan
First Rehearsal: Jun 20, 2021
Opening: Jul 2, 2021
Closing: Jul 31, 2021

Tracy “Mackenzie” Jones - Male, 40’s. Uncertain of Himself. Any race.

Tracy Jones - Female. 40s/50s. A desperate hostess. Any race. (Cast)

Jillie - Female. 17. Personal-Party-host-with-the-most at Jones Street Bar and Grill, the Place for Wings and Things, eager to make the customer’s experience as good as possible. Though not required, it’s encouraged that Jillie be of a different race than Tracy. (Cast)

Tracy “Eleanor” Jones* – Female. Older than Tracy. A lover of books. Desperate to fit in. Any race. (Cast)

*Some roles during production allude to physical violence (self-harming, suicide) and incidents of fatality.
