SEEKING:

The Poet - Male, 40-60, A poet who dresses in rags and has a sense of tattered handsomeness. He needs and wants everything and every woman, but has never quite lost his sense of humor. G2-F4

Lundanda - Female, 30-40, wife of wives to the Wazir of Police, born a princess in her own right in a neighboring kingdom. Rich, bright, and bored with her life. She takes a romantic interest in the Poet and works to bring him to power. F#3-B4

Marsinah - Female, 15-25, The Poet's beautiful daughter. She has lived her life in the streets but has maintained her innocence and retains a sense of humor. She falls in love with the Mansa. Hungry and ragged.

The Mansa - Male, 20-30, The newly acceded leader to the throne. A handsome and romantic youth who falls in love instantly with Marsinah, but hides his identity. C3-Ab4

Wazir of Police - Male, 30-45, The new Commander of the Royal Camel Corps and appointed executioner in Timbuktu. Androgynous, murderous, and corrupt. A2-F#4

M'ballah Of The River - Male, 55-70, A king among pirates and brigands. He has traveled to Timbuktu to undo a curse that lost his son. Imposing, tall, fierce.
