Equity actors for roles in Purple Rose 2023-24 Season (see breakdown).

Purple Rose is seeking auditions/submissions from all performers, without regard to race, age, disability or ability, ethnicity or gender identity.

PREPARATION

Please prepare 2 contrasting monologues limited to 60 seconds each. Bring a copy of your Headshot and Resume. Be prepared to fill out an audition form and survey. Video Submission Instructions: Self-tapes should be
links; YouTube unlisted links, Vimeo links, and Dropbox links are preferred. Please make sure anyone with the link may view. Submissions must have 2 contrasting monologues limited to 60 seconds each. Please include a full body slate, with full legal and equity name; any representation and titles of monologues. Please submit your self-tape link and headshot/resume to info@purplerosetheatre.org, ATTN: Audition. Deadline: Submissions open Monday, April 10th, 2023 and will close by end of day Friday, April 14th, 2023

REHEARSAL INFO

Rehearsals are held min. five days a week, 6–8-hour days, maximum 38 hours a week, in Chelsea, MI. Day, evening & weekend rehearsals may be scheduled depending on actors’ and director's schedule. We are unable to give specific call times in advance at this time. Please expect to attend every day of rehearsal.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

GENERAL INFO

All PRTC Staff and Artists are required to be fully vaccinated.

PRTC hires both Equity & Non-Equity actors as cast members and understudies.
The Equity Contract for the 2023/24 Season is a SPT Modified Tier 8. Base Pay for Actors is $710.00
PRTC utilizes the option of a Bi-Weekly pay schedule. The payroll schedule will be communicated
when roles are officially offered to the Acting Company. Pay dates will be supplied no later than the
first day of employment.

AUDITION SPACE

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the
extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms.
Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical
mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas
are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

The holding room at The Purple Rose Theatre can accommodate no more than 11 individuals at a
time.

The audition room at The Purple Rose Theatre can accommodate no more than 19 individuals at a
time.
