ANNIE
1st Possible Rehearsal: October 12, 2026
Tech: October 28 – November 1, 2026
Previews: November 4 – 11, 2026
Press Opening: November 12, 2026
Anticipated Closing: January 10, 2027
In-person Chicago adult callbacks will be the week of April 13, 2026.
ANNIE (10–12): A tough, streetwise orphan who is nevertheless vulnerable when she thinks she might lose what has become most important to her: a newfound “family” who loves her. She is friendly and caring. Must be a strong actor with strong vocal and musical skill. Vocal range: A3–G5.
MISS HANNIGAN (35–45): The “has-been” orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold. Strong comedic timing required. Vocal range: B3–G5.
OLIVER WARBUCKS (40–55): A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish. Vocal range: B3–Gb5.
GRACE FARRELL (26–35): Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, and gentle. She is all business when dealing with Miss Hannigan and Warbucks but takes a maternal approach to Annie. Vocal range: Bb3–G5.
ROOSTER HANNIGAN (25–35): Miss Hannigan’s no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man. Vocal range: B3–G5.
LILY (25–35): Rooster’s girlfriend who is also out for a quick buck. She is easily distracted; she is never the leader, always bringing up the rear while tripping over her own feet metaphorically speaking. Vocal range: B3–G5.
FDR (40–60): The 32nd President of the United States. A Democrat and friend of Warbucks. Vocal range: Eb3–F4.
MOLLY, PEPPER, DUFFY, JULY, TESSIE, KATE (6–13): The other orphans in Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. These girls are gritty, neglected, and vulnerable, yet honest and loveable.

VIOLET (40–45): The company’s Head Secretary and Mr. Hart’s Administrative Assistant; she is a single mother and stands up for what she believes in. She is strong and ambitious. Vocal range: F3–D5.
DORALEE (25–30): A spitfire who works at Mr. Hart’s office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Vocal range: G3–E5.
JUDY (30–35): The new girl at the firm; she has been burned by her husband's affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful. Vocal range: Ab3–F5.
FRANKLIN HART (45–50): One of the firm’s executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss. Vocal range: C3–Gb4.
