Buddy (Precast)
Born a human but raised at the North Pole as a Christmas Elf, Buddy is eager to find his place in the world. He is a child at heart and that child-like curiosity makes him both endearing and gets him into trouble. Child at heart and that child-like curiosity makes him both endearing and gets him into trouble.
Age: 25 to 40
Vocal range top: C5 (Tenor)
Vocal range bottom: Ab2
Jovie
Buddy’s girlfriend. She works at Macy’s and has a bit of a cynical outlook on life and love because of the men she’s dated. She is caught off guard by Buddy’s genuinely big heart.
Age: 25 to 40
Vocal range top: D5 (Alto/Mezzo Soprano)
Vocal range bottom: G3
Walter Hobbs
Buddy’s workaholic father. He is a Children’s book writer, but lacks any of the childlike spirit that Buddy has. He is selfish, tense, and generally angry with life.
Age: 35 to 55
Vocal range top: G4 (Baritone)
Vocal range bottom: A2
Emily
Walter’s wife. Though she is sweet and willing to take him in, she thinks Buddy is crazy at first. Wishes her husband would spend more time with the family.

Michael
Buddy’s stepbrother who is excited to have a new friend and brother.

Mr. Greenway
Walter’s boss. He is what Walter will become if he continues down the path he is on. A tyrannical, workaholic who cares nothing about the people around him or who work for him.
Age: 45 to 65
Deb
Walter’s secretary. Takes an instant liking to Buddy simply for the novelty of it. Though she aims to please and is a bit of a suck-up, she feels under appreciated.

Santa
Just another workingman. Loves his job and Christmas, but also likes to kick-back and watch the game when a rare opportunity arises. A natural storyteller.
Age: 50 to 80
Vocal range top: E4 (Baritone/Tenor)

Ensemble: (Casting 9 Actors to cover the following roles and Ensemble)
Mother: Typical mom arguing with their child about what they want for Christmas.
Mrs. Claus: Santa’s loving and supportive spouse who keeps Santa on track.
Waitress: A waitress who connects with their customers and helps them
Sam: One of Walter’s Office Staff who is in a bind at the top of the show
Manager: The manager of Macy’s, he’s doing everything he can to make sure all the employees stay in line.
Saleswoman: The first person to greet Buddy as he enters Macy’s. She’s the consummate sales person: smiling, overfriendly, and always trying to sell something.
Security Guards: A stern duo from Walter’s office, making sure everyone who enters has permission.
Santa's Helper: Works as a Macy’s Employee and announces when each kid gets to visit with Santa.
Fake Santa: A poor replacement for the real Santa. He is an employee of Macy’s who is a bit rough around the edges. Fake Santa is a little over-the-top.
Policemen: Are a friendly pair of cops who return Buddy to the Hobbs household.
Sarah: A staff member at Walter’s office.
Chadwick and Matthews: Staff members at Walter's office who are doing everything they can think of to save the day and make their boss happy.
Charlotte Dennon: A TV reporter with a big personality. She does her best to keep her professional persona in public and doesn’t like being shown up.
Elves: (Precast) TSPA Students Santa’s special helpers who love their job making toys to meet their Christmas Eve deadline.
Charlie: (Precast) TSPA Students In charge of monitoring the other Elves, making sure every present is wrapped and every bow is tied.
Shawanda: (Precast) TSPA Students A dependable and caring elf. She will do whatever she can to help out others, including Buddy, even though she accidentally reveals that he is a human.
